Robert M. Beren Academy (RMBA) is a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school committed to academic excellence, Jewish values, and nurturing the next generation of Jewish leaders. RMBA is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Kindergarten and Montessori Assistants to join our team to support the Lead Teacher in fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for young students. The Assistant will play a key role in promoting the social, emotional, and academic growth of children while embracing the values of Jewish education. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the development of young minds in a nurturing and collaborative school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons, both in academic subjects (such as literacy, math, science) and Jewish studies (such as Hebrew, Jewish holidays, and values).
• Support students in their social, emotional, and academic development, providing individualized or small group support as needed.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, outdoor play, lunch, and other transitions throughout the school day.
• Help with classroom management, ensuring a positive and respectful environment for all students.
• Prepare classroom materials, displays, and resources for lessons and activities.
• Encourage and support students in developing their social skills, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
• Assist in the implementation of classroom routines, rituals, and Jewish traditions.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Maintain clear communication with the Lead Teacher and other staff members regarding student progress and classroom needs.
• Promote Jewish values, holidays, and customs within the classroom setting.
• Provide general classroom support, including setting up and cleaning up activities, assisting with classroom technology, and helping with administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred).
• Previous experience working with young children, particularly in a Kindergarten or early childhood setting and experience in a Jewish educational environment is a plus.
• Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and colleagues.
• Passion for working with young children and fostering a love of learning.
• Knowledge of Jewish traditions and practices is highly preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
