The Friendship Circle of Houston was established in 2004 with the goal of bringing friends and smiles to children and adults with special needs. Every year the Friendship Circle of Houston hosts the Friendship Walk. This year it is on Sunday, March 13. www.houstonfriendshipwalk.
Harry and I would like to invite all students at Beren to participate. We'd like to know if we can come for a few minutes to a Lower School student meeting (if you have one) this month to talk about how RMBA can get involved in the Friendship Walk. Students can:
Walk - as a team or individual. Wear your school t-shirt and bring banners...have fun! Show Houston that your school supports the special needs community. (Pre-register on line for a free t-shirt.)
Get Sponsors - sign up on our website www.houstonfriendshipwalk.org under your school team or as an individual. Let your friends and family know you are walking and ask them to sponsor you for this great cause. (website is super easy and will do all the work for you!)
Students can earn prizes for the money they raise.
We have a short (1:15) promo video that we'd like to show. And we'd like to see about getting the Friendship Walk mentioned in the Beren Buzz, in an email to parents, and hang fliers at the school.For students in grades 1 to 5 we have fundraising envelopes that students can use to gather their sponsorship money.
